Plants a tree on giving tuesday
Great Falls, Montana – Tuesday, December 3rd is Giving Tuesday, and there’s no better gift than a new tree in Gibson Park. The Roots Revival group within the Gibson Park Committee is collecting donations to replant portions of the Gibson Park canopy that were removed this past fall due to age and storm damage. The committee has worked with the City Forester and City Parks Manager on selecting a variety of trees that offer optimal canopy coverage, beautiful fall colors, have drought tolerance, and are able to withstand the drastic changes in temperature that occur in Great Falls.
The cost of planting a tree in Gibson Park ranges from $495 -$770, which includes planting. The full list of potential park trees and prices, along with directions on how to donate, is available at the Great Falls Park and Recreation website Donor Opportunities | City of Great Falls Montana. The Park and Recreation Department’s Deputy Director, Jessica Compton, may also be contacted by phone at (406)-771-1265 for questions.
