Department Overview

Welcome to the Finance Department of the City of Great Falls!  You may remember us as the Fiscal Services Department.  Our name may be different, but we still provide the City with the same great service.  Finance is responsible for utility billing, accounting, taxes and assessments, and the City's budget.  The functional areas are:

  • Accounting - The accounting division is responsible for accounts payable, payroll, the general ledger, financial reporting including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), cash investments, and mail processing.
  • Budget - The budget division is responsible for preparing and monitoring the City's total annual operating budget.
  • Tax & Assessments - This division is responsible for requests about taxes, assessments, and special districts.
  • Utility Billing - This division handles utility customer service requests, billing, and customer payments.
