Frequently Asked Questions

I received a postcard and other mailings from SLWA with the City of Great Falls Logo. Is this valid?

A partnership agreement with the City of Great Falls allows the company to use the logo in communications to indicate that there is a formal relationship in place and to let residents know that the offering is legitimate, it is for the residents’ benefit, and it has the approval of the City of Great Falls.

All of the mailings SLWA sends to City of Great Falls residents are first reviewed and approved by the City of Great Falls. Who paid for the mailings and how did they get the names and addresses? · The City did not release the customer’s information. SLWA obtained their mailing list from a third party agency. SLWA paid for all mailings with no cost to the city.

Why did the City of Great Falls partner with Service Line Warranties of America?

Many residents are not aware that buried water or sewer lines on their property are their responsibility. A broken or blocked water or sewer line on the property can cost thousands of dollars to repair or replace and many times residents are not prepared for this unexpected expense.

Doesn’t my homeowners insurance already cover these repairs?

Typically no. Most homeowners are surprised to learn that they are responsible for the repair and the replacement of their broken, blocked or leaking utility lines on their property. While most basic homeowners policies will pay to repair the consequential damage that results from failed utility lines, they do not cover the repair itself. We encourage homeowners to call their insurance company to determine actual coverage. If homeowners live in a condominium or duplex dwelling, they are also encouraged to contact their homeowner’s association to determine if coverage is needed prior to enrollment.

Is this the only company to provide this service?

The Agreement with SLWA is non-exclusive, property owners could seek a similar product elsewhere. The service is optional.

Who are the local contractors that participate in this program?

Residents should call the toll-free number 1-844-257-8795.

Contractors interested in joining the SLWA network can find more information online at: https://www.homeserve.com/en-us/slwa-contractor-network-application/

Will I receive coverage documents in the mail if I sign up for coverage?

Yes, coverage documents are mailed out as soon as you sign up for coverage. Please be on the look-out for the envelope containing the coverage documents. It looks like the regular mailings and many residents have discarded the envelope because it looks like junk mail.
