The Building and Planning Divisions normally review plans in the order in which they are received. The Planning & Community Development Department establishes priorities based on a first-come, first-served basis. However, projects of a minor nature are mixed in with the review of more complex plans to maintain desired time frames.

Unless you apply for and receive a multiple animal permit, you are limited to two dogs and two cats over four (4) months of age.
While the facility designs are in the preliminary stages, the facility will offer the current amenities offered by the Community Recreation, and the Natatorium prior to its closing. Park and Recreation will provide updates as the project progresses.
Amenities will be driven by identified programming needs of the community and programming will drive facility design.

The City carries out snow and ice removal operations based on a priority system. The first priority is emergency snow routes, the second is major arterials, and the third is streets including mass transit routes and other streets that provide access to major arterials.

While the facility designs are in the preliminary stages, the facility may potentially include multiple indoor pools.
Many proponents have suggested constructing a 50 meter pool for competition purposes. While this is a legitimate consideration, the facility was not solely intended to be for competitive swimming. The facility is being designed to improve the quality of life of the Great Falls community, MAFB Airmen and dependents in addition to meeting MAFB training requirements.
Facility design, construction, and maintenance costs will likely drive the number and size of pools at the facility.

Any and all matters concerning Public Criminal Nuisance charges must first be directed to the City of Great Falls Code Enforcement Officer who wrote the citation. The name of the issuing officer is found at the bottom-right corner of the citation you received and this officer can be reached by calling the Code Enforcement Tech in Planning and Community Development at 455-8574.
Yes. A landlord has the right to ban all pets from their rentals.
- Do I need a Permit to place a political sign? Political signs do not require a City sign permit. However, signage must be in compliance with City code in all other respects.
- Are there limits on the size and height? Political signs may be no larger than sixteen (16) square feet in area and four (4) feet in height.
- When can I put up signs and when do I have to take them down? Signs may be placed no earlier than 60 days prior to any election. Signs must be removed within seven (7) days after an election.
- Where can I place political signs? Signage may be placed on private property with the owners’ permission. The sign must be placed a minimum 12’-0” away from the curb and out of the 45’-0” clear vision triangle at intersections. Signage is not allowed on public property in City boulevards, on boulevard trees, utility poles, street lights or signs, traffic poles and other public property.

While there are instances in which a plan is not required, such as re-siding or residential re-roofing, many so-called "small jobs" are affected by building codes. The addition or deletion of a wall down the middle of a room can dramatically alter the existing and structural integrity of a building. A plan that clearly indicates the work to be done can avoid surprises and conflicts at the job site.

Residential and Commercial Plan Checklists are available at Planning & Community Development front counter at Room 112 of the Civic Center. The Civic Center is located at #2 Park Drive South.
You must pay a fee based on the number of animals you wish to have and fill out a permit application with the animal shelter. Animal control will then conduct a home inspection. Once the inspection is complete, you will go back to the animal shelter to purchase the permit. If you fail to get the permit and have more than the allowed number of animals, you could be subject to fines. You could also be ordered to surrender your animals to Animal Control.
