Can I pay my fine online?
To pay your fine online, you may visit CitePay USA. In order to pay online, you must know your citation or docket number. Not all payments are eligible to pay online.
When is my court date?
Refer to your Citation, Court order provided to you, call the Court at (406) 771-1380 or access the Court Public Access Portal.
How do I get a refund on my cash bond?
Bond refunds are mailed within two to four weeks after ordered returned by the Judge upon disposal of the case, if the Defendant has appeared and complied with the bond condition(s).
There is a warrant out for my arrest, what do I do?
Appear in Court to see the Judge immediately, see the Court's hours of operation.
How do I get protection from my violent spouse or partner?
You may request an “Order of Protection.” Call Victim Witness at (406) 315-1111 or go to 401 3rd Ave N, Lower Level between 9 am and 5 pm. prior to filing with the Court.
Where do I go if I have a ticket from the Montana Highway Patrol or Cascade County Sheriff's Department?
You will need to go to the Cascade County Justice Court which is located at 415 2nd Ave North, Great Falls MT. The phone number for the Justice Court is 406-454-6873.
Who do I contact in regards to the status of my driving privileges?
You may contact the Motor Vehicle Department of Montana located in Helena, MT at 406-444-3933.
How do I resolve my parking citation?
Contact the Parking Division at (406) 455-8430 or (406) 455-8414. If you wish to contest the citation and proceed to trial, you must appear in an open Court session with your parking ticket and speak with the City Attorney.
How do I provide valid insurance proof to the Court?
1. Insurance company must e-mail or fax a notice to the Court on the company letterhead stating:
- The vehicle (including year, make and model) had current coverage and that the coverage was valid on the date and time that the citation was issued.
- If the Defendant is not the policy holder, the insurance company must include that the Defendant was a covered driver.
- If the driver is an excluded driver, the insurance would not be valid. Therefore, the citation will not be dismissed.
2. It is the responsibility of the Defendant to contact the Court to check the status of the citation.
How can I speak with the Judge regarding any matter?
You must appear in an open Court session to speak with the Judge. Please refer to our hours of operation. The Judge does not take phone calls and/or personal meetings.
How do I post a bond for myself or someone else?
1. If the Judge orders a Defendant to post a bond for a pending matter (trial/hearing), you may post a surety bond with a bondsman, or post the bond with the Municipal Court in the form of cash, check, money order or cashier's check.
- If you post the cash bond with the Court, a check for the bond amount may be refunded back to the posting party upon resolution of the case and compliance of the Court order.
- To post a cash bond, you must have a valid form of identification.
- Surety bonds are between the Defendant and the bond company. The Court does not issue refunds for surety bonds.
2. If the Defendant is sentenced to serve a jail sentence for failure to pay, the Court requires a cash bond to be posted for release on that sentence only, which will be applied to the owing balance (this cash will not be refunded). This cash bond may be paid at the Cascade County Detention Center, or the Great Falls Municipal Court.
- Personal checks are not accepted.
