Part-time and Temporary Employee Benefits
Retirement – optional enrollment through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). Employee contributes 7.9% of gross pay to PERS; the City contributes 9.07%. Vested after five years of service. Enrollment is mandatory if more than 960 hours are worked per year.
Pension – The following unions have additional pension plans the City contributes to; Teamsters, Laborers, Machinist, Operators, Plumbers, and Electricians.
Holidays – prorated based on hours worked in pay period, 10 days per year, 11 days on election years.
Vacation – prorated based on hours worked in pay period, maximum accrual 4.62 hours per bi-weekly pay period; eligible for use after six months of employment.
Sick Leave – prorated based on hours worked in pay period, maximum accrual 3.70 hours per bi-weekly pay period; eligible for use after 90 days of employment.
