Health Insurance

Health insurance is processed through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana. They have one of the largest networks in the state. They have over 75 years experience in the health care field and are one of the most trusted names in health insurance. The member services include customer advocates, web based tools, and apps so the member can get the most out of the plan.

Information about our compliance with the Transparency in Coverage Machine Readable Files rule through Blue cross Blue Shield is available for viewing.

Dental and Vision Benefits

Dental benefits are provided through MetLife. MetLife does not have a group of "in-network" dentists. Claims are paid the same coinsurance amounts regardless of the dentist. MetLife allowances are based on the 90th percentile, which means 9 out of 10 dentists are charging below the allowance. It is possible that if your dentist charges a higher amount you may be billed for the difference. Dental insurance cards are available at the HR office or can be downloaded at the website.

Vision benefits are managed through MetLife. They utilize all the VSP in network providers. Member services are also run through VSP. There is a large group of in-network providers. If you choose to visit an out of network provider you will need to pay the bill and then submit a clam through VSP to be reimbursed for the allowance offered by VSP.  Vision insurance cards are available at the HR office or can be downloaded on the  website.
