GREAT FALLS FIRE RESCUE FIRE INFORMATION RELEASE

Great Falls, MT –  At 6:09 tonight Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a working fire at the Grizzly Inn, located at 1214 13^th St S. Engine 1 and Battalion 1 arrived on scene at 6:12 to find occupants of the hotel evacuating, and smoke coming from room 130. At 6:19, Engine 1 and Battalion 1 found a mattress to be smoking in the room. Engine 1 was able to force their way into the room where they quickly extinguished the mattress and other small fires. The fire was contained to room 130. There was minor smoke damage to the first floor hallway. All the other rooms of the hotel were unaffected by the fire and remained occupiable. The occupant of the room was arrested by GFPD and charged with intentionally setting the fire. One occupant of the hotel was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. No other occupants of the hotel experienced any other medical conditions.
