Don't Miss the 2015 Trail Mixer

City of Great Falls Montana

DON'T MISS THE TRAIL MIXER!

The Trail Mixer is the major fundraising event for the Lewis & Clark Foundation and was originally launched in 2006 to raise funds for the Preserving the Trails land acquisition. Today, it has grown into the Foundation’s largest funding event with more than 400 people attending each year. The event helps sponsor a variety of needs such as children’s and family programs, exhibits, school programs, and capital needs for the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.

This year’s Trail Mixer will be held at the Mansfield Center on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, and includes dinner along with live and silent auctions and fun events. Doors will open at 5 pm.  Past auction winning bidders have won trips to fabulous locations like Cabo San Lucas, Boston and New Orleans, and beautiful one-of-a-kind art originals!  The offerings this year will be just as exciting – check back often as we will be adding trips and other live auction packages as we complete them.  Tickets are $40 each.  Please call 791-7732 for information on tickets or sponsoring a table of eight.

Proceeds from the event help support the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, one of Great Falls’ premiere tourist attractions with 50,000 visitors each year.  It’s a significant source of tourism dollars that support hotel, restaurant, shopping, and other local businesses.

The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center’s education programs are designed to integrate into school curricula and meet education standards and requirements. Several thousand school children visit the Center each year from all over Montana, including some from outside Montana.

Owned and operated by the US Forest Service, the Center is subject to Federal funding and its limitations. The Foundation fills an increasingly vital role as funds dwindle each year, and programs and staffing are reduced. The Foundation funds programs, equipment, capital projects and provides marketing assistance that the Forest Service cannot fund. The Center functions as a partnership between the US Forest Service and the community of Great Falls, represented through the Lewis & Clark Foundation. Both are vital to the success of the Center.
