The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter is thrilled to announce its participation in the upcoming "Empty the Shelters" event, in collaboration with the BISSELL Pet Foundation. This national initiative aims to reduce adoption fees and encourage families to open their hearts and homes to pets in need. The event will run from May 1 to May 15, aligning with BISSELL Pet Foundation's mission to end pet homelessness.
As part of this event, the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter will be offering reduced adoption fees of $50 for dogs and $25 for cats (please note that adoption fees do not include the cost of a city license). This presents a wonderful opportunity for families in our community to welcome a new furry friend into their lives while supporting our efforts to find loving homes for all our shelter pets.
Laramie Smovir, Interim Operations Manager at the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter, expressed excitement about the event, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with BISSELL Pet Foundation for the 'Empty the Shelters' adoption event. This initiative not only helps us find loving homes for our shelter pets but also raises awareness about the importance of adoption. Every pet deserves a chance at a happy and fulfilling life, and we encourage everyone in our community to consider adopting during this special event."
The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter has been an enthusiastic participant in Empty the Shelters events for the past several years. This ongoing involvement reflects our commitment to helping the animals in our shelter, serving our community, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. It's a win-win situation, allowing us to find loving homes for our shelter pets while ensuring the efficient use of resources.
Since its inception in 2016, the "Empty the Shelters" event has been instrumental in finding homes for more than 226,000 pets nationwide. It is BISSELL Pet Foundation's largest program, demonstrating its commitment to partnering with animal welfare organizations across the country to make a difference in the lives of pets in need.
