From the Neighborhood Coordinator’s Desk

The Great Falls Neighborhood Councils will be meeting as per their fall schedules.  All changes in October will be noted in bold ;

Neighborhood Council meetings are open to all, and public participation is crucial to the effectiveness of the individual Neighborhood Councils.  Citizens are encouraged to address the Councils with neighborhood news, concerns, items of interest, and/or success stories.  Please plan to attend the Neighborhood Council in your area, and let the members know what’s up in the neighborhood!

Citizen Involvement

All councils invite and welcome attendance at their meetings and have set goals for increased citizen participation in 2018-2019.  For information on meeting times and locations, please see the schedule below or call Patty Cadwell, Neighborhood Council Coordinator, at 455-8496.

Regular Fall Meetings

Council #1 meets Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Meadowlark School library.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Sergeant Jim Wells, an update on the sale/lease of the state land along Fox Farm Road from DNRC’s Martin Baluska, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #2 meets Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the West Elementary School music room.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Tad Kimmet, an ongoing discussion of area speeding problems, information from citizen Gary Schoenthal about speed detecting road signs, committee reports and neighborhood concerns

Council #3 meets Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Riverview School music room.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Donny Gerhart, discussion of speed limits within the Council area and Great Falls, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #4 meets Thursday, October 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Heritage Baptist Church, 900 52nd Street North.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Clint Houston, ongoing discussion of traffic problems along 36 th Street South, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #5 meets Monday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center, 3000 15th Avenue South.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Meek, information on a proposed community daycare center, Toby’s House, from Leesha Ford, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #6 meets Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sunnyside School library.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Donny Gerhart, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #7 meets Monday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gibson Room at the Civic Center.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Tad Kimmet, discussion of problems associated with other area rental properties, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #8 meets Thursday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. in Great Falls Pre-Release Center’s Women’s Annex, 1019 15th Street North.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Meek, discussion of traffic problems on 1st and 2nd Avenues North, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #9 meets Thursday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the 1st Church of the Nazarene, 1727 2nd Avenue South.  Agenda items include a visit from Community Policing Officer Clint Houston, updates on Great Falls High reconstruction, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Great Falls Citizens Council’s “Council of Councils” meets Tuesday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gibson Room at the Civic Center.  Agenda items will include citywide concerns.
