Good Morning Nicole,

Our website does list the Neighborhood pools as: Regular Season June  - August (opening and closing dates change annually)1:00-5:45 p.m. Daily, and in the Summer Guide the Season dates are posted as June 20 - August 14. The neighborhood pools have historically closed about a week before the Electric City Water Park, which closes the day before the GFPS resumes for the school year. There are numerous factors that have gone into this decision, but mostly because the majority of the lifeguard staff is comprised of college and high school staff, and usually at this point they have resigned and returned to school or school activities. So for the last week of school summer break, we pull all our remaining lifeguard resources that we have remaining to keep the Water Park open, as we don't have enough lifeguard staff to keep three operating pools open all the while maintaining State regulations. We also would love to keep all three open, but unfortunately we don't have the operating staff to do so.
