I wrote a letter to Mayor Kelly last year in regards to the "War" that went on our neighborhood with the large artillery shells booming. Not only do I have to work early in the morning on the 4th of July, but also the next day. I don't get paid holidays. I know Great Falls has allowed fireworks in the city limits forever, but you need to seriously put a cabosh on the large artillery shells that shake houses, shake peoples nerves, and hurt animals ears. Provide a safe location for people to go outside of town to set fireworks off. There are just too many dangers lighting large fireworks off in the city. Our house has 2 very large pine trees. I would hate to see one of them burned to the ground by an errant firework. All I ask as a citizen of this great town is to look into alternatives. And having the noise ordinance last til 1am??? Seriously. That is way to late into an evening. If you can't get stuff done by midnight at the latest, there is something wrong.
