Camping within City limits

I've seen a rising population of tents and amps set up on more rural land and under bridges within the city limits of Great Falls. I would love to join them but don't know if I need a permit. Also, I like to night fish but have no idea if I can within city limits. It would be really cool if I could set up a tent near that Dick's RV park. The catfishing at night there is pretty good and I see people there all the time. TIA.

Hello Matthew,

We do not allow overnight camping in any of our parks within City limits.  If anyone is camping they are doing it illegally or without permission.  Some of that might be the homeless population that has been setting up camps around town as well.  You can certianly check out the night fishing, but can not camp overnight. Good luck fishing!
