Recovering stolen property
My license plates were stolen off my 2002 Yukon XL Denali on Wednesday 10/20/2021 at 3:15 am. They were recovered off a stolen 2001 Yukon XL Denali about 7 pm the same day. I contacted the police department because the victim of the vehicle theft reached out to me via social media after I posted my plate number and informed me the cops found them on her stolen vehicle. I contacted dispatch around 9 that night to ask them about my license plate. The dispatcher I contacted said that if they did have my plates that the police would contact me. That night I also spoke to Officer. Cobb who informed me my plates were taken out of the stolen list in the system and that I needed to contact Officer. Edelmen as it was his case. I contacted Edelmen the following day who informed me that my plate(s) were recovered and that I needed to contact records, who said i needed to contact evidence. I left a message on 10/21/2021 around 1:30 pm. It's been 2 full days since my plates were recovered and I haven't heard anything regarding getting my plates back so I can put them back on my vehicle. When will I get my plates back? What do I need to do to get my plates back?
