Who Maintains the street trees

Hi There,

I recently moved to Great Falls. We have a tree that borders the trees and I've noticed that many of the trucks passing by are scratching the tops of their trucks on it. It's not just our tree but several on our street. Can you tell me does the city maintain trees that overhang streets or is it owner responsibility.

Depending on where you live, some trees are maintained by the City in areas called the 'Boulevard District'.  These residents are charged a fee to have those trees maintained as well as having leaves picked up in the fall.

The Park and Recreation Department Forestry Division handles the City tree maintenance.  Please contact them at (406)771-1265.
