Ordinance 3230
I understand the need to establish a more firm system of limiting the parking of RV's, Travel Trailers, boats/boat trailers & other large vehicles & equipment on city streets. However, rather than limiting the amount of time that vehicle/item can remain parked on the street to such a short time frame (36 hours), I would advocate simply tightening the enforcement/penalties for an owner who chooses to leave that item on the street. The state code that has been in existence for many years allows a bit longer timeframe (72 hours). I do not see why the City c/would not simply use that time frame but raise the penalties for someone who allows that vehicle to remain on the public right of way. Many properties were never designed to allow a large item to be parked on the property. Having such a short time frame will severely limit many owners from having the time they need to properly fit, unload and/or make the seasonal adjustments or repairs that might be needed for such an item.
