who hires a city Attorney?

I was just wondering how the hiring process works for hiring a city attorney. I have a friend that lives in Great Falls, but a another that lives in Kalispell. Heard that Attorney in Columbia Falls is a relative of Police Chief Peters who sent me a death threat.

It depends on the City's form of Government as to who does the hiring.  If you are in fact inquiring about Columbia Falls, it looks like the City Manager does the hiring.  The City Manager there is Susan Nicosia and she can be reached at 406-892-4391 or nicosias@cityofcolumbiafalls.com.
