I would like permission for us to use the Band Shell for both rehearsals and small Tuba Christmas concerts.

I am the coordinator for the Great Falls Tuba Christmas band. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of the Great Falls Municipal Band, and am familiar with using the Band Shell.

We normally perform during the Christmas Stroll in the atrium of Times Square during the Christmas Stroll. However, this year due to Covid-19 we feel it is unsafe to: 1. Attract a large crowd indoors, and: 2. to perform on the lower level with a large group above us. If the weather is decent outside we will more than likely perform on a street corner somewhere along Central Ave.

Another option I was considering, was for us to have a few mini-concerts at the Band Shell. I would advertise our FREE performances via Social Media, and perhaps the local news outlets. It would provide Christmas music for the community, and an opportunity for our musicians to play Christmas Music in a group of 12-15. I will ensure all musicians will be socially distanced.

I would like permission for us to use the Band Shell for both rehearsals and small Tuba Christmas concerts.

Please feel free to contact me via voice, text, or email if you have any questions.

Good Morning Phillip,

Hosting some Christmas concerts is a wonderful opportunity for the community! In order to use the Band Shell you would have to reserve it through the Park and Recreation office. Band Shell reservations run $75.00/day.  The reservation provides guaranteed usage and electricity to the area.  Additionally, with the new Cascade County Health Department COVID restrictions and guidelines there will be additional steps to hosting any event within a City park.  In order to host any event you have to submit your event plans to the CCHD for approval.  Typically  what they are looking for is the who/what/where/when of the event and how you will be able to enforce the current 50 people or less gathering at your event.  Once they have approved your event you can then reserve your area and proceed forward.

Please email me if you have any further questions.
