Hello, I am writing to make an enquiry following an attempt to apply to recieve a certified copy of my Birth Certificate. I have read through the application but am unable to send a letter alongside the relevant Identification as I have been living within the UK for the past 25 years and no longer have any form of ID valid within the United States to certify that I am originally a citizen. I do not know my social security number as I need my birth certificate to prove i am a citizen before i can be given this information. i would just like some advice on what to do or how to proceed as i so far have come up empty without walking into your offices myself to request it all. this has posed a problem for myself as i have visited the states within the last year and upon seeing my place of birth as Great Falls Montana at the airport i was told i should acquire a valid US passport on my next visit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the City can't help you with this request. Birth records are kept and maintained by Cascade County.

I would suggest calling the Cascade County Clerk and Recorder's Office, +1-406-454-6801, located at 121 4th Street North, Suite 1B-1, Great Falls, MT  59401.

Hopefully they'll be able to give you some options.
