Hi there to whom reads this. Ok so two nights ago I was walking down the middle of the street headed to casino thats two blocks from my house. When I heard a man yelling from the alley to my left so I stop to see if he was yelling at me or if he was just mad and yelling at the world. So I walk to the curb and stop hes still yelling and I cant make out what hes saying. So as he approaches me I ask him what are you saying I didnt hear you. He says what am I doing looking into the windows of peoples vehicles I reply I wasnt looking into anyones vehicles. And he begins to get even more angry and steps off the curb which leaves about a few inches from each other he has his hands clenched in fists and still yelling all this in one action so I think hes going to punch me so I take a step back and raise my arms up in case decided to physically hit me I take a moment to see what he does next and he doesnt seem like hes going to cause me any harm so I put my arms down to my sides in a relaxed posture. He then proceeds to pull something from the waist of his pants all I can see is a black square object in his right hand hes hiding his hand behind his leg now this whole time hes yelling and moving around and while hes flailing around his hand comes out from his leg and I notice hes got a revolver pistol so I put my hands up in a surrender and slowly step back from him and ask him please dont do that as in please dont shoot me he tells me that I need to get out of his neighborhood I said no problem and ran into the casino where i was headed originally I then call the police from the casinos phone. I stand there and wait for the officers to show up 40 minutes later dispatch calls the casino back and tells the casino attendent that the officers are now on there way and that they had a bigger issue that they were dealing with first. So 5 minutes later they finally show up and I tell them what I explained in this message they tell me because I walked over to the curb to see what the gentleman wanted that I was in sense the aggressor and him the victim because I didnt ignore him and continue on my way to the casino. So the officer i was speaking with asked if I knew which house he came from and what did he look like I gave him my description and he said. No one lives on that block that fits that description so he wouldnt know which house to appraoach. Anyways the officer pretty much told me that there was no action he could take. And if my story didnt match up with the other gentlemans that that gentleman would have the right to pullout his pistol in self defense cause I raised my fists which made him feel threatened. I was all confused by what the officer was saying to me but for the most part I understood as i stood there and he started to explain a little further why I was no longer the victim and became the aggressor. Well tonight Im walking from the casino and was headed home when that same man starts shouting again he says your that guy from the other night and that I better stay away otherwise he will shoot me I continue walking home as instructed by the officer the night before . I really need advice here cause i only live a block away from this guy and Ill be in the area going to the casino or the the store thats a block away Im going to try and stay out of his path but what should I do or what can I do legally to protect myself if I cant just continue on my way and he decides to hold me up against my will.
