Hello, I'm Jennifer Jones, board member for Sense-Ability School for Children With Autism, the only school in the state to serve children on the autism spectrum. A year ago we purchased an older church building @ 1220 17th St S. We chose the location for many reasons, but truly fell in love with the corner lot with lots of yard which we want to fence in as play area for our students. We now find out from Paradise Fencing that we must set our fencing back 22' from the sidewalk, which leaves us with very little play area. We were not told of this restriction by the selling realtor which would have impacted our decision to purchase. We are also told that we could rent the space we need from the city which we compute to be in excess is $2,000 annually; a cost which our new, struggling school cannot afford.

We appeal to the city to make an exception for us. A safe play area is very important for our children. Please contact me soon to discuss this matter. We would love to have you visit our school.
