I know you are busy with real crime but.. We have a parking issue in the 900 block of 7th st So. We have asked the landlord to tell the owners to move them and either he did not or they refuse to. There are two cars on the street a black might be a Toyota and greenish might be Honda that have not been driven or moved for over 3 months. Also a brown SUV and Red car from Washington parked up in the yard that have not been moved in over a year. Is there anything you do to help clean up the parking issues. Thank you in advance. Dear Collette, we here at the police department have a JAVA (Junk and Abandoned Vehicle Abatement) Unit which will address your complaint about the two vehicles on the street; however, we do need more information. For each vehicle on the street, please gather the following: vehicle make & type (for instance: Ford Windstar), as well as the exact address the vehicles are in front of. Plate numbers would be awesome, too, if possible.

Call this info in to Dispatch and they will start a case number, which will get the ball rolling (or the wheels turning on those abandoned vehicles, as the case may be!). The number for Dispatch is (406) 727-7688, Option #5. Please be patient once the process starts, as we must go through some tagging and waiting processes to give the owner fair opportunity to resolve it before we tow the vehicles away.

Regarding the two vehicles in the yard, this is an issue handled through the city's code enforcement office instead of the police department. You may call (406) 455-8574 to inquire further about that process.

For got to give you addresses black care is parked across the street from 906 7th st so and greenish one is at 911 approx. 7th st so the red car is in empty lot across from 906 also. thanks
