please take a look at fees at Village greens golf course in Kalispell.....it is twice the course ours are, cheaper in some of their rates and a little more in others, but rates structure is clear and fair. Once again their course is twice the condition ours are....so we should not expect our fees to be higher than theirs. Is it true golf money is used to support other areas such as tennis courts, dog parks etc. One of the attractions for new incoming business is what does the city offer in recreational activities.....cutting down to one course is not good. The local golfer did not make the poor decision to hire the crooked contractor for Eagle Falls and that redo.....so why do you want to burden the local golfer for someone else's poor decision. Hickory Swing has completely turned its operation around with new management and has sucked league golfers and tournaments away from the city courses. Please don't drive golfers away with too high fees and removing a golf course, you must become more "user friendly". Reduce costs by hiring private contractors to repairs instead of high priced city workers, who are too busy to give much time anyway to the courses. Can we hire one golf course manager for both courses rather than a resident golf pro. Nothing against Connie, but maybe fresh blood is needed. Allowing Connie to profit by conducting her own business as a golf pro separate from any connections with the city.
