Great Falls MMIW cases
My name is Annita Lucchesi, and I am a doctoral student at the University of Lethbridge. My work is on the issue of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls in the US and Canada, and I am partnering with the Urban Indian Health Institute to collect data on such cases in urban areas of the US.
I am reaching out to you to confirm the data we have for your city.
I have not found any data on ongoing or historic cases in Great Falls--would you be able to confirm that there are no MMIW cases in your jurisdiction? For missing cases, we are only looking for ongoing or unsolved cases (we do not include cases in which the person was found safely). For murder cases, we include any type of homicide, as well as suspicious deaths. We are collecting cases from the last 100 years.
It is our aim to share this data with law enforcement, policy advocates, governmental agencies, and community organizations, to raise awareness on the high rates of violence against Native American women.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or voice concerns you may have.
Thank you,
Annita
