Check the Status of Your Ticket

The Greenbelt area in the Portage Meadows which is bordered by 7th Ave. North, 52nd St., and 4 th Ave North has not been mowed for at least the last three weeks. In some areas, the grass is at least 8 inches tall. Weeds and thistles abound, and in one stretch there are even small trees growing where the mowing has not been done. Also in some areas the sprinkler system has not worked properly for most of this long hot and dry summer. A dead plum tree lies on its side in one spot, a victim of neglect and some neighborhood boys. Between some streets, the grass is brown and dead, while in another section we have witnessed the sprinklers going on for more than 2 hours. I know some of our property taxes go to the upkeep of this vital and much appreciated green space. What is the reason that this year it has been maintained so poorly? Who is responsible for the lack of care and upkeep?
