Speeding Cars Near Boys and Girls Club in Great Falls
My son works at the Boys and Girls Club here in Great Falls. When I go to pick him up or to drop him off, I see vehicles constantly speeding through the roads right next to the daycare (both on 6th Street SW and on 1st Ave SW. There are no posted traffic signs for the speed limit or to slow down "children at play" or even pedestrian crossing signs. There are no speed bumps on 1st Ave SW to detour cars from speeding through. I know that these kids (and even their parents) are not looking when they cross the street. I can't even tell you the number of near misses I have seen between cars and people there. It's unreal to think that there would never be an accident there. I watched a couple of the kids run right into the street without looking and nearly get ran over by a car making a right turn onto 1st Ave SW from 6th Street SW. A good old fashion speed bump or two ought to do the trick!
