First off I want to thank all of you for your service.
I am writing this email to I guess voice my concern/frustration. Today around 3:00 I was walking by the Skate Park & a group of 6-8 kids were beating the crap out of something with a baseball bat. My first concern was that it they were beating up a person. As I got closer I saw it was something black & what seem to be plastic looking. About 10 minutes later I was walking back towards the skate park & I saw a police officer pull into the parking lot & pull out about 30 seconds later. The group of kids that where doing this destruction were sitting in their cars right there. Now there is a bunch of broken glass/plastic all over the area where they were beating this object with a bat.
My 8 year old son has recently got a scooter & wants to go to the skate park. With my office building right next to the skate park I see what goes on there & I am very leery of letting him go, but why should he be the one missing out because of the hoodlums that hang out there all day. The language & profanity is just unreal. I have taken him a few times & he loves it, but I don't want him to be around all the bulling & profanity that goes on there.
I realize that you can't do anything about that, but I am just asking to have one of your officers patrol that area more often. Not just drive by but get out & make there presence know.
I see a officer parked down by the tennis courts all the time. Maybe he can sit down by the skate park then some of the older kids will see them & won't be as likely to be so destructive.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
