An accident waiting to happen!

Dear sir,

I was driving in great falls on 10th avenue south at 11:30 am today (near 32nd street) when I spotted this truck hauling a 20foot container weighing 2.2 tons empty) on a trailer that was clearly unfit for purpose.

The trailer did not have twist locks, all that kept the container in place was its own weight, and the driver obviously thought he could keep the container in place by attacked a small chain to it.

I am an executive with the largest container shipping company Mærsk so I know what can go wrong in cases like this.

This driver may end up causing a lethal accident unless something is done. I have taken pictures in case desired.

He had Alaska plates YZF110

Kind regards Robbert

Dear Robbert, thank you for the info. It was sent out to our patrol officers, as well as Montana Highway Patrol to be on the lookout for the vehicle & trailer. We also tried calling the company in Alaska, as they may have cell phone contact with the driver; however, it was just an answering machine.

I noted that your sighting was at 11:30, it was reported on our website at 12:52, and we did not see the post until about 2:00. I would encourage anyone with something timely to report not to use the website, as it could even take a day or possibly even over the weekend for it to get noticed there. Instead, I would encourage you to call Dispatch directly at (406) 727-7688, Option #5 fpr reports such as this.

Thanks again for the info, maybe we will still be able to spot him!
