Street Sweeping

City of Great Falls Street Sweeper

The City sweeps approximately 300 miles of streets each year to maintain cleanliness, improve roadway safety, and enhance the overall appearance of neighborhoods and business districts. Street sweeping helps remove debris, leaves, and dirt that can clog storm drains, contribute to air pollution, and create hazardous driving conditions.

Spring sweeping is conducted on a daily schedule, ensuring that residential streets are thoroughly cleaned after the winter months. In addition to the scheduled spring sweeping, residential streets are also swept upon request. Collector streets, which experience higher traffic volumes, are swept multiple times throughout the year as needed. Business district streets are cleaned routinely after hours to minimize disruptions to businesses and traffic flow.

Street sweeping schedules are published in the Great Falls Tribune, on the city website, on local news stations, on radio, and on Facebook. Additionally, signs are placed in affected areas 24 hours before scheduled service to remind residents of upcoming sweeping.
