RIVER’S EDGE TRAIL GETS BIKE REPAIR STATIONS

Great Falls, Montana – Thanks to a Fish, Wildlife and Parks Montana Trails Stewardship Grant, the River’s Edge Trail now has two new bike Bank Park near the recently renovated parking lot off of 3rd Ave. NW and the second is located on the South Shore Trails at the shelter east of Whitmore Ravine. The stations are equipped with a stand to hold up your bike while working on it with the attached tools.  A separate stand has an air pump and gauge for tire inflation.

A QR code is featured on the stands and links to instructions and YouTube videos on how to perform bike repairs such as tire repair and adjusting gears, brakes and derailleurs.

The River’s Edge Trail has a third bike repair station located at the Caboose trailhead and has seen frequent use since it was installed in 2019 and was sponsored by the River’s Edge Trail Foundation and Scheels.

Trails Coordinator for the City of Great Falls, Steffen Janikula commented, “We are fortunate to have programs like the FWP Trails Stewardship Grant available for enhancing recreation in our state.  The repair stations will keep folks biking along the 55 miles of the amazing River’s Edge Trail.
