Friday Hit & Run Crash – 10th Ave South & 17th Street South

GREAT FALLS, MT – On Friday, 8/30/24 at approximately 10:22 pm, 911 Dispatch received a report of pedestrian being hit by a motor vehicle at the intersection of 10th Ave South and 17th Street South. The male pedestrian was not moving and the suspect vehicle had left the area.

Great Falls Police Officers arrived on scene and began first aid to the unconscious victim prior to Great Falls Fire Rescue/Great Falls Emergency Services arrival. The pedestrian victim was transported to Benefis Emergency Department for treatment (as of 9/3/24, the pedestrian is in serious condition).

Additional arriving officers spoke with witnesses, reviewed business surveillance video and began searching the area for the suspect vehicle. Officers also began processing the crash scene. Later the evening of the crash, the driver turned themselves in to police.

The incident remains under investigation and charges are dependent on the outcome of the investigation.
