Next week, Great Falls Neighborhood Council #7, #5, and #8 are hosting ice socials, and NC#5 is also hosting a monthly meeting. Below is a brief summary of the activities, followed by information on how to file as a Neighborhood Council write-in candidate for the 2021 Municipal Election. Council seats are available in NC2, NC3, NC4, NC5, NC8, and NC9.
Neighborhood Council #7 (NC#7) invites residents to participate in their ice cream social on Sunday, August 15, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Carter Park, 3rd Street and 6th Avenue South. Free Frosty ice cream provided by a NeighborWorks Great Falls grant.
Neighborhood Council #5's (NC#5) monthly meeting is hosted on Monday, August 16, at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center Conference Room, 3000 15th Avenue South. Agenda items* include Apollos University, proposed Sidewalks between 15-17th Ave. and 36th Street, neighborhood concerns, summer social, and September candidate forum. Neighborhood Council #8 (NC#8) invites residents to participate in their 18th annual ice cream social on Thursday, August 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Memorial Park, 19th Street and 2nd Avenue North. Free ice cream and root beer floats are provided by the council members and Meadow Gold.
Neighborhood Council #5 (NC#5) invites residents to participate in their ice cream social on Sunday, August 22 at 3 p.m. in Charles Russell Park Picnic Pavilion 3300 15th Ave. South. Free ice cream and refreshments are provided by Super 1 Foods.

Filing as a Write-in Candidate:
Six Neighborhood Council districts have openings for the upcoming term (January 2022-December 2023). The Write-In Candidate Declaration of Intent and Oath of Candidacy form needs to be submitted to the Cascade County Elections Office by August 30 at 5 pm. Council seats are available in NC2, NC3, NC4, NC5, NC8, and NC9. Below is a link to the Write-In Candidate Declaration of Intent and Oath of Candidacy. Please note, anyone who is running as a write-in candidate will need to self-promote to have people write in their name on the ballot.

In Great Falls, there are currently 9 Neighborhood Councils. Their purpose is to serve the citizens of Great Falls by providing a direct link to City government within the neighborhoods. Each Council is made up of 5 members who were elected by the voters in that Council area.
