Great Falls Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID)
Program Description
Development of a Tourism Master Plan
Why This Matters
This plan will utilize assessments conducted by professional consultants to evaluate Great Falls’ current and potential status as a tourism destination. The plan will serve as the foundation for short and long term strategies for marketing and increasing the appeal of Great Falls to visitors.
How is this Eligible?
The laws that identify eligible expenses of ARPA funds (Sections 602 and 603 of the Social Security Act) state that a unit of local government shall use funds to “respond to the public health emergency with respect to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 or its negative economic impacts, including assistance to house-holds, small businesses, and non-profits, or aid to impacted industries such as tourism, travel, and hospitality.” The City Commission prioritized the distribution of a portion of the ARPA allocation to local partners in 2021.
Status Updates
TBID released an RFP for consultants to help develop a Comprehensive Tourism Strategic Master Plan. Proposals will be reviewed and a contract will be awarded in April.
TBID reviewed applications and selected a consultant team to complete the Tourism Master Plan. Initial site visits and stakeholder meetings were conducted in May, and the public kickoff meeting was completed May 24, 2023.
