Civic Center Façade Project to Temporarily Shut Down Construction Activity for the Winter Season

City staff, in consultation with its contractor, Talisman Construction Services, Inc., has decided to institute a short winter shutdown period for the Great Falls Civic Center facade project. This project, which the City Commission approved on April 6, 2021, was initially scheduled for completion in February 2023. The decision to institute a short winter shutdown may postpone the project's completion date to August 2023.

The proposed winter shutdown is projected to be between January 19, 2023, and early March 2023, depending on favorable weather conditions. Depending on the length of the winter shutdown, the final completion of the facade restoration work is projected to be in early August 2023. Besides the need for a short winter shutdown, the project is proceeding as planned and represents a significant accomplishment in preserving this iconic building in the heart of Great Falls.
