Administrative Services Bureau

Administrative Services Manager Rachel Vallie

Our Administrative Services Bureau is Managed by Rachel Vallie who joined the Great Falls Police Department in 2015.  Immediately after Rachel arrived at the Police Department a major restructure came to the bureau to incorporate the evidence department.  Rachel's vast private industry experience facilitated this major change.  Prior to starting with the Great Falls Police Department, Rachel worked within a major shipping company and brings with her 18 years of invaluable experience in customer service and overall operations management.

When fully staffed the Administrative Services Bureau consists of 10-Civilian Staff members to include: The Bureau Manager, one Records Supervisor, four Police Information Technicians, two Evidence Technicians, one Property Research Technician, and one Community Service Officer. The Records Supervisor oversees the daily operations of work performed by Police Information Technicians and the Community Service Officer.

Police Information Technicians, are primarily responsible for data, collection, entry and integrity as well as report dissemination to those authorized to receive it.  They perform background checks for a variety of people and agencies.  In addition, they fingerprint individuals for employment purposes (by appointment) and for individuals receiving orders from municipal court.

The Evidence Technicians and Property Research Technician are directly responsible for proper storage retention, release and destruction of property.  The Property Research Technician’s primary responsibility is preparing discovery requests and researching case dispositions.   Evidence Technicians assist on crime scenes, with evidence collection and processing, submit and receive crime lab shipments and provide guidance to department personnel on proper evidence submissions.  All evidence staff are responsible for auditing and maintaining a proper chain of custody on all property tendered to them.

The Community Service Officer (CSO) is a sworn-civilian position.  This position is the “face” of the department that can be seen at the front counter of our lobby taking reports and assisting the general public.  This position processes all on-line reports received from the citizens of Great Falls and many retail locations.  The CSO is responsible for issuance of citations and court appearances where applicable.  The CSO also performs VIN inspections 11:00-4:00 each Wednesday.
