Library Board of Trustees

Creation

Ordinance 341 in 1910 as city library. The Board of Trustees were appointed by the authority of MCA § 22-1-308.

Purpose

Oversees the Library policies and operations including book policies and service to the City, County, and pathfinder Federation of Libraries.

Membership

Five members, appointed by the City Commission.

*Resolution 9484 (pdf) stipulates: "Whereas, this Resolution will apply to all Boards and Commissions unless State Law is more restrictive…" and, "It is the policy of the City Commission…maximum uninterrupted length of service on any one Board or Committee shall be two (2) consecutive terms, exclusive of the time served on any unexpired term, for each person appointed…" and, "…all terms shall begin on the date of appointment or as specified by Ordinance."
